Sunday brunch at Kitchen Creatures

Decided to go brunch with the ladies on Sunday mid day for a catch up and to cheer myself up.  Called up and meet up at Kitchen Creatures. It's located at Centerpoint, Bandar Utama. It's a 10 minutes drive from my place and it's a perfect place for me, especially a place that away from hectic traffic. This is avoid starvation while waiting to reach destination for food.

We are welcomed with warmth and the customer service level was quite good and impressive. Kitchen Creatures is a perfect place for lunch, drinks, dinner or even for group gatherings. The place is great for familu quality time spending with a great meal and ambience. Air conditioning is subtle and not too cold or too hot. It's a non-smoking area so I guess smokers need to wait till the end of the meal then I think you guys to head down somewhere else for a puff.

The decoration of the place is quite simple yet gave the comfortable feeling. A homely feeling to be precise. I don't feel out of place. At least the place is not decorated with unnecessary deco that make the place so messy and felt so out of place. I do have experienced certain place that decorated with too much accesories and decoration items that made me feel uneasy and feel that owner is trying to hard, but failed to impress.

The menu designed to be simple and have a page of food that highly recommended or food with the most liked by customers. This page really made my choice for food a pleasant process. Fast and efficient. No more waiting waiter at your table waiting for your order. With the summary list, we ordered the food half of the time and spent our valuable time with friends catching up.

This is the Stew Beef Soup that I'm gonna give 7/10. The taste is rich with the ingredients plus the beef texture, well there's still more room for improvement. It was served hot and that's what I'm quite particular with. The soup also served with garlic bread, a small pieces of bread.

This Seafood Olio Pasta has quite a pleasant taste. The cream though a bit too rich for us ladies, we still like the tender shrimp that is quite fresh. The spagetti is not too hard either. This time we are giving a 6.5/10.

Pizza was tender and the cheese flavor gave us the tingling feeling. The ingredients used are fresh and the meat is marinated with spices that gave the tasty cheesy smell while you eating it. This one, I love it! Giving it a 8/10.

Ala Chicken King with rice did impressed me quite a lot. The cream is not too rich and the rice is mixed with a little bit of butter. The butter in the rice gave the great aroma that keep me scooped it one after another. This, I'm giving a 8.5/10!

Tiramisu. Will never go wrong for the dessert. This one, we are all agreed to give 7/10.

Verdict: 8/10

Service: 8/10

Food Quality: 7.5/10

Environment/ambience: 8/10

Price: 7/10

SEONG KEE Hakka Yong Tau Foo

Hunting for nice fresh yong tau foo around PJ Old Town area? then this is the place to come. This place is usually packed during dinner time as it is located in a Food Court. I will usually go 'makan' with my significant other and usually we will order pretty much the same thing.

For the fried ones we will order the brinjal, foo chok and sui kow. Once ordered you will have to wait a while for them to prepare. This is because they do it on the spot once ordered so it is always fresh! I have to say my favourite have to be the fried sui kow. The fillings are well balanced and its not too much skin nor too much meat. The other fried stuffs are good also as the fish paste is smooth and bouncy and not chewy.

For the soupy ones I usually order the stuffed chilli, tau fu, tau pok, ladies finger and bitter gourd. Like i mentioned earlier the fish paste is done nicely and it is smooth and bouncy. But be very very careful as it is fresh and its boiling hot. This is especially for the chilli and ladies finger as the outside might be cooled down but inside its still scorching hot! Sometimes I like to dip the fried stuffs into the soup.

One more usual dish we order is the fried chicken wings. The wings is nicely marinated and fried and it is just so juicy and crispy! yumm!!

There are two more dishes that people usually order which is the Pork Knuckle with Vinegar and the curry. Unfortunately I didnt snap any photo of those. But it is also a must try.

It is located at the Medan Selera at Jalan Othman PJ OLD TOWN, next to the Market.

Service: 6/10 (Slightly slow to react especially if there is too many people)
Food Quality: 8/10 (not bad)
Environment/ambience: 7/10 (abit warm and not all fans are on)
Price: 8/10 (reasonable for KL standard)

My verdict: one of the few fresh yong tau foo in PJ South area. Can try coz its not too bad!

CHEAP CHEAP NASI LEMAK BUNGKUS AT JLN GENTING KLANG

One Fine morning my colleague ask me whether I wanted to go for Cheap and good breakfast. Was hesitating at first but decided what the heck lets go. So I followed him. He said this place is cheap and the food is good.

It is this small stall off Jalan Genting Klang. Its located near the famous Prawn Mee. It is actually opposite the Galleria Building at Jalan Genting Klang.

When reached the placed was packed with people. It is just a small stall along the road. Its rather comfy tho as there are trees and maybe its the morning breeze. So it is not stuffy. We got a table instantly and my colleague told me to go take the food. So I followed him. There I saw many many small packs of food packed with newspaper. Each section the paper was labeled with different initials, one is NL, BH, Petai, Sotong etc... so I ask them what was it so NL was normal Nasi Lemak, BH is fried Bi hun and the Petai, Sotong etc was Nasi Lauk. Basically Nasi lauk is just rice and the dishes labeled. But there is a surprise, the rice is infact also nasi lemak just missing the eggs and sambal.

Since its a rather small pack my colleague advise me to take two. Well, what the heck i thought. I took two. One was normal Nasi Lemak as shown in the pic below...

And the other was Nasi Petai ikan bilis.
I have to say the food is actually really really good. The rice was cooked properly and its not too dry nor too wet and the aroma and taste was very balanced. You can basically feel each grain of rice. The sambal is not too spicy and not sweet, its just nice. The petai is glorious. Even though the portion was small but it was enough to satisfy my curious taste buds.

Then at the end I just wash everything down with a nice cup of kopi kurang manis.

At the end guess how much I paid for my meal? A thrifty RM 2.30 (if I remember correctly la...). Overall I get a filled belly and still heavy wallet! haha. This place only serves breakfast. Do not know what time the close tho.

Service: 7/10 (self service, and the drink guy takes too long to come and count)
Food Quality: 8/10 (good for the price we pay!)
Environment/ambience: 5/10 (road side stall, will be extremely warm if no wind)
Price: 9/10 (cant get this price in downtown KL anymore)

My verdict: Try if you are nearby! there are so many other nasi choices that I have yet to try...
